| No, that doesn't mean away from the Z32... We all have our stories about love at first sight and still dont see the end yet. ;-) I have been in a business structure for the past three years here in our new shop that was based on a business plan that was an effort of three people, myself included, to construct. Shortly after moving to our new shop an opportunity to purchase a DynoJet 248X chassis dyno and 4-post lift to go with it came around and it fit perfectly into that plan. Through the course of that time the business has pretty significantly diverged from the original plan which has brought me to the next step of action. In the classified section you will find a for sale post of our chassis dynamometer. What occurred to me a few months back was a convergence of the question of why do I have the equipment we possess and the question of what do we really need. Chassis dynamometers are really cool pieces of equipment that we have used extensively for product development over the years but that has also been at a pretty enormous cost to do it in such a way. After a good deal of thought, a relatively obvious solution presented itself: Engine Dynamometer. With a piece of equipment like this we will be able to significantly accelerate the R&D process of new products. Doing all the research and building the prototypes are a task in and of themselves. But then installing them into a vehicle to prove the concept is just an incredibly laborious process added to another. An engine dynamometer will be the shit. We will be able to very easily test any component in the powerplant system. Try a new set of turbos? No problem - an hour's work. Test a new set of exhaust manifolds? No problem an hour and a half's work. Test a new intercooler design? No problem - 10 minutes. Test a new intake manifold design? No problem, 20 minutes. In addition, it will fully enable us to step into the performance engine building arena and provide fully assembled engines for customers, dyno tested, broken-in, leak-free, compression proven, and with an engine control unit already programmed for any combination of fuel types, power-adders, etc etc etc.. An unmatched incentive for those too far away to cost-effectively bring it to us or fly us out to do the install and/or custom dyno-tune.. This is where horsepower is taken to a truly plug-and-play level. I know there are really only few who would entertain the purchase of such a piece of equipment for personal use but the sale price of the unit is at $22K of which I will reserve $2K of that for a finders fee. =) So, as I said, on to bigger and better things. Thanks for reading! Take a look at the classified at for this - it has all of the specs for the machine and all of the bells and whistles we have on her. :)
